Your Irish Rambler Tour Itinerary


Day 1. Depart USA
Your trip begins with an overnight optional transatlantic flight to Ireland.

Day 2. Arrive Shannon-Kerry
Upon arrival you will be met with the broad Irish smile of your driver/guide upon clearing Customs. You will then board our deluxe motor coach for a leisurely drive through the picturesque thatched village of Adare and New Castle West and shortly thereafter visit the Foynes Flying Boat Museum recalling the time when Foynes, Ireland, became the centre of the aviation world from 1939 to 1945. On July 9th 1939, Pan Am's luxury Flying Boat, the "Yankee Clipper" landed at Foynes. This was the first commercial passenger flight on a direct route from the USA to Europe. During the late 1930s and early 1940s, this quiet little town on the Shannon became the focal point for air traffic on the North Atlantic. We continue onward through the famous town of Tralee. Day 3. The Ring of Kerry
The Ring of Kerry is one of Ireland’s most popular and scenic drives. View the beautiful coastline of the Inveregh Peninsula and Dingle Bay and as we travel through the towns of Glenbeigh, Cahirciveen, Waterville and Sneem. Take in the spectacular beauty of wind-swept cliffs, still lakes, lost valleys, and rocky mountains. Ample time for photographs and to just delight in your surroundings. The circle is complete as our route takes us onto “Ladies View” then back to your hotel for dinner. Overnight Kerry B,D

Day 4. Kerry-Blarney-Waterford-
Today begins with a stop at the village of Blarney, where you will have the opportunity to kiss its famous Stone and bestow on oneself the gift of eloquence. Next is a visit to the Cobh Heritage Centre highlighting how millions of emigrants departed from this historic port town to the New World. Explore the conditions on board the immigrant ships, including the dreaded "coffin ship". Travel to Waterford Crystal factory, if open, to see their craftsmen at work. Day 5. Waterford-Dublin
Kilkenny, Ireland’s ancient capital of the kingdom of Ossory established in 1609. It is often referred to as the “Marble City”. Kilkenny is renowned for its magnificent castle and medieval architecture. Kilkenny Castle was built by the Norman's who arrived in the city during the 12th century. Set in beautiful grounds next to the river Nore, the castle is well worth a visit! Late afternoon arrival in Ireland’s capital Fair City, Dublin. B,D

Day 6. Dublin City
Today begins with a panoramic city tour of Dublin, view Trinity College, home to the Book of Kells, St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Travel through O’Connell street and pass the former Irish House of Parliament now the Bank of Ireland. Afternoon is free for more sightseeing or shopping. This evening you will have the opportunity to enjoy a rousing Dublin Cabaret show. Overnight Dublin. B

Day 7. Dublin-Shannonside
We bid farewell to Dublin and cross the heartland of Ireland into County Clare. View the majestic Cliffs of Moher rising nearly 700 ft above the Atlantic Ocean and extending nearly five miles. They are one of the grandest stretches of cliffs in Ireland. You continue through the Burren, an area of barren limestone hills which burst into bloom each spring with rare flowers. Time to freshen up before dinner at our hotel. Overnight Shannonside. B,D

Day 8. Shannon/USA
Following breakfast, we depart for Shannon Airport with ample time for last minute shopping and picture taking prior to our return flight. B
